This pharmacy supports a high-volume operation with a team of approximately 18 pharmacy technicians, 20 pharmacists, and on-site management, and caregivers interact closely with nurses, pharmacists, buyers, and fellow technicians throughout the day. The role offers a high level of autonomy while working in close collaboration with pharmacists and includes responsibilities such as medication picking, receiving and handling narcotics, triaging workflow needs, answering phones, managing re-dispenses, and responding to the pharmacy door. The team culture is hardworking, reliable, and patient-centered, with a shared focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and delivering safe, timely medication support to inpatient care teams.A caregiver in this position worksa 7-on, 7-off schedule. Wednesday through Saturday hours are 11:00am to 9:30pm, Sunday through Tuesday hours are 11:00am to 11:30pm and holiday expectations are 2-3 holidays per year. Acaregiver who excels in this role will:Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterilecompoundingand sterile compounding.Deliver medications to theappropriate storagelocations inan accurateandtimelymanner.Maintainaccurateandappropriateinventoriesof medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.Maintain a safe and clean work area bycomplying withprocedures, rules and regulations, anddocumentregulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduledactivitiesand training.Use information systems,technologyand automation to complete assigned tasks.Assistwith the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School DiplomaorGEDLicensedin Florida as a Registered Pharmacy TechnicianCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)upon orwithin18 monthsof hireAbility to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compoundsBasic computer skillsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Completion of a formalPharmacyTechnicianTrainingProgramSix months of hospital experiencePrior Inpatient experiencePhysical Requirements:Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.Personal Protective Equipment:• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeSalaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
