Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflightThis role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.Are you looking to become a systems expert for the next generation of New Glenn Avionics, and follow the life of the program to test and flight support? We are a small team of hardworking experts, each with ownership of the system lifecycle. We are looking to hire someone who can take ownership of defining and implementing the deployment for the GS2 Quattro Next Generation Avionics platform. Come join us in this exciting and fast paced role to make a direct impact on the history of human space explorationAs a systems integrator, you will be the authority on all aspects of the avionics systems associated with New Glenn, including CONOPS, functional architecture, components, and software. You will follow the development component hardware, autonomous software, and development testing, and will be accountable for feeding forward lessons learned into the coordinated operation of your subsystem on the flight vehicle. You will collaborate with the stage-level leads, and you will build a comprehensive set of constraints, alerts, and limits for the New Glenn operations teams.As a key member of the GS2 Quattro Avionics team, you are highly diligent and future thinking, can handle a broad set of data, and embrace Blue's long term vision of millions of people living and working in spaceResponsibilities:Build detailed CONOPS for pre-launch and flight operationsDefine safety artifacts such as Functional Hazard Assessments and Allocations, FMECA, Fault Tree Analyses, etc.Define Avionics system specifications and collaborate with other teams to provide verification reports.Define constraints for the end-to-end safe handling and successful testing and initiation of operationsCollaborate with integrated test, launch operations, and autonomous flight operations customer teams to incorporate operational constraints into downstream procedures and flight plansProvide real-time engineering anomaly resolution during integrated test and launch operationsQualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related technical field5+ years validated experience with Avionics operations, including a combination of analysis, design, test, and operations for launch systemsHands-on experience in developing, authoring, and implementing integrated tests or operating launch vehiclesExperience with developing analyses and trade studies for sophisticated avionics systemsAbility to work with partially defined requirements and changing criteriaEngaging communicator, able to explain difficult engineering concepts to people of other engineering fields: Electrical, Software, MechanicalDesired:Launch vehicle controller (front room or engineering back room) experienceFamiliarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and/or SMC-S-016 testing standardsExperience with Ethernet based communication protocolsInstrumentation knowledge and operational experience with data acquisition systems and electrical test equipmentMulti-functional experience in fluids, hydraulics, mechanical, or actuated systemsExperience working in an electronics laborato
