AMO, an Akima company, is looking to add for a Tier 2 IT System Admin with a Top-Secret clearance to the team in Summerville, SC. This full-time position will support the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) network as a Tier 2 IT System Administrator providing advanced desktop and systems support for network-connected and standalone laboratory environments. This role supports Windows domain administration, virtual machine deployments, endpoint infrastructure, STIG implementation, and continuous monitoring activities within secure DoD lab environments. The Tier 2 IT System Administrator serves as an escalation point beyond Tier 1 and works closely with engineers and cybersecurity personnel to ensure operational reliability and compliance. Responsibilities Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support. Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations. Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately. Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures. Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures Systems & Desktop Administration + Assist in management of a Windows domain environment. + Support desktop operations and troubleshooting in RDT&E lab environments. + Perform virtual machine builds and deployments in support of system integration. + Install, configure, and maintain external workstation hardware and authorized software. + Perform server/workstation installations and technology refreshes. + Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. + Perform system upgrades as required. Infrastructure & Endpoint Support + Maintain IT infrastructure end-point devices including: + Workstations and laptops. + Printers. + Desk and mobile phones. + Audio/visual equipment. + Maintain end-point data backups and ensure data integrity. + Participate in the patch management process. + Support configuration management activities. Cybersecurity & Compliance Support + Support tracking and implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs). + Assist in RMF artifact development and continuous monitoring activities. + Ensure systems align with DoD cybersecurity standards. Collaboration & Documentation + Work with a team supporting network-connected and standalone RDT&E laboratories. + Create and maintain technical documentation. + Lead and assist with projects as needed. + Utilize tools including: + MS Teams. + ServiceNow. + Active Directory. + Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM). Qualifications + Active Top Secret Clearance. + Masteru2019s level degree in any engineering discipline. + 7 years of experience performing Systems Administration taskings. + Experience supporting Windows domain environments. + Experience with virtual machine deployments. + Experience with patching and configuration management. + Familiarity with STIG implementation and DoD cybersecurity practices. + Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
