Job Description

Rochester General Hospital (Rochester, NY) seeks Lead Athletic Trainer to coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for designated locations. Perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program. Regularly meet with the Athletic Training Manager and Senior Athletic Trainers. Manage schedules, provide coverage for team members and mentor senior Athletic Trainers. Implement overall sports medicine program for designated locations, including: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for athletes. Provide athletic training services for athletic departments with which the Petitioner has contracted for athletic training services, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions, as necessary. Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete. Responsible for the supervision and evaluation of athletes requiring on-field and clinical experience. Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual athlete needs. Assist Athletic Director and Head Athletic Trainer in the management of the sports medical program budget. Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medical program. Record keeping, documentation of injuries, and processing of insurance claims. Assist Head Athletic Trainer in developing and coordinating educational symposiums. Travel to/work at various local high schools and colleges 20% of working time, all within Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, and Genesee Counties of New York.Requirements: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Athletic Training or Sports Medicine. Valid New York State license to practice as an Athletic Trainer and Certification from National Athletic Trainers Associate Board of Certification. Salary: $48,790 - $59,987.20/year.
