The Prototyping Manufacturing and Integration Division (PMID) ofApplied Research Associates (ARA), Inc., has an exciting opportunity for a full-timeMaterial Handlerworking on-site at our Huntsville and/or Madison, AL facilities. A Material Handler is responsible in providing support on the manufacturing floor to machinists, welders, and fabricators by supplying and/or holding various materials. This role requires operating machinery such as but not limited to forklift, pallet jacks and various hand tools used in production process. Under direct supervision, the Material Handler will be responsible to support the manufacturing of mechanical prototype devices or products and transporting, properly identifying and routing material/inventory to the proper stations.This position will require at minimum the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance from the US Department of War.Seeking in a Material Handler:- High School diploma (or equivalent) plusadvanced training and1-2 years experience- Operates or assists forklift drivers in transporting materials- Familiarity with technical manuals - including blueprints, schematics and or sketches- Ability to function as an integral part of a team- Strong working knowledge utilizing hand tools, power tools and measurement tools- Must have familiarity with mechanical systems and safe work practices- Assists with cleaning up sites, and disposing of waste, as well as helping with any other needs- Cleans shops and yard to maintain appearance and safety- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, stand, sit, stoop, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, hold and move items with hand, multilimbed coordination, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, push and pull, vision for near and distance, and lifting 50lbs independently, and over 50lbs with assistance- Be physically capable of wearing all required personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, safety shoes, hearing protection and hand protection as required- Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance from the US Department of War- Be a U.S. CitizenNice if you have the following but not a dealbreaker:- Active / current SECRET Clearance from the US Department of WarWho is ARA?Applied Research Associates, Inc.is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
