Job Summary: To support our ongoing needs in vegetation management and tree trimming operations throughout the U.S., Ceres continuously hires experienced Heavy Equipment Operators capable of operating equipment. Types of equipment include: skid steer, excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, front-end loaders, rollers, and forklifts. As an Equipment Operator, you will operate, maintain, and transport a variety of makes and models of heavy equipment on varying terrains (rural roads, residential communities, and highways) in varying environmental conditions requiring the ability to drive safety while navigating around energized power lines and critical infrastructures. The geographic locations of our projects vary, however, common locations including: South Atlantic (NC, SC, GA); Southwest (TX, AR, OK); South Pacific (CA, NV, AZ): Gulf Region (LA, TN, MS, IA). Whenever possible, our goal is to hire locally. You must be able to work a minimum of 6 days, 10-12 hours per day. The duration of the project will also vary, and you must be able to commit to completing the assignment. When applying Please include your home address, specific equipment you can operate, and number of years experience on each Responsibilities: + Participate in daily job briefings to include safety updates. + Independently load, unload, and haul of heavy equipment. + Work safely and efficiently operate a variety of makes and models of heavy equipment in varying terrain and environmental conditions. + Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of equipment. + Effectively work with other employees, subcontractors and customers, as needed. + Document and follow requirements and procedures to track activity, maintain production logs. + Accurately track and record hours worked. Required Qualifications + High school diploma or GED. + Current Class A CDL license. + Demonstrated experience operating heavy construction equipment in industrial or infrastructure environments (electrical hazards and high voltage). + Proficient and safe operation of multiple types of heavy equipment. + Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings, grade stakes, and site plans. Preferred Qualifications + Current Endorsement H, X. + OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety. Physical Requirements and Environment + Ability to climb equipment, enter and exit cabs repeatedly, and work long shifts + Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods + Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus + Ability to work in adverse weather/field conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, exposure to mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and loud noise level. + When required by the specific job you are assigned to, wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, etc. Ceres Environmental is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: + Education: High School Diploma + Experience: 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment + Commercial Driver License: Class A or B + Valid Driver License Preferred Qualifications: + Equipment repair or maintenance certifications/licensing + Equipment Operating licenses + Qualified Applicator License (QAL) + Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: + Knowledge to operate and haul equipment in accordance with industry guidance and standards + Knowledge and ability to repair, refurbish or fix heavy equipment + Apply knowledge of new and emerging technologies and equipment to business operations + Ability to receive direction or guidance + Ability to work within a team + Ability to communicate well with others + Problem solving skills + Recognition of safety hazards
