Job Summary and Qualifications Responsible for the overall coordination of the quality assurance activities within the Cardiovascular Service Line and Chest Pain Center. + Responsible for oversight of Cardiovascular related Accreditation/Certification, to include, but not limited to Chest Pain Accreditation through the American College of Cardiology, as well as the coordination of related process improvement using evidence-based practices. + Partner with Parallon for abstraction and submission of required cardiac data for compliance with the American Association of Cardiology (ACC) NCDR CathPCI Registry, Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Registry, and the Transcatheter Valve Therapy (TVT) Registry. Provides recommendations for internal process improvement as it relates to the national cardiovascular surgery metrics. + Maintain the CDRA CV Abstraction Missing Information Outliers database for CathPCI, STS, and TVT. Communicate missing documentation to physicians and follow up on any patient outliers. + Manage review process for all in-hospital mortalities and complications for all cardiac patients (i.e. Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac EP, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Structural Heart, and General Cardiology). Prepare timelines of events, create action plans and identify performance improvement opportunities. + Collect and analyze all quality outcomes data to develop communication and corrective action plans for improvement. + Verify readmission status for post cardiac surgical patients and document the reason for readmit, if applicable. + Identify and document 30-day mortality for post cardiac surgical patients. + Act as a liaison between physicians and nurses for performance improvement; collaborating closely with VP of Cardiovascular Services. + Coordinate and facilitate CV M&M and CV Continuous Performance Improvement meetings. + Review, compile, and communicate patient data for referrals to Cardiothoracic Surgery post Cardiac Cath. What qualifications you will need: + Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor Degree preferred + Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation. + BLS (AHA) + 1-3 years of cardiovascular nursing experience required; 3-5 years of cardiovascular nursing experience preferred Benefits HCA Florida Ocala Hospital, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
