Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelors degree in a job related field and 1 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of HR experience in Classification/Compensation and/or recruitment in higher education work environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Working knowledge of classification, recruitment processes, and payroll & time keeping. General knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management. Must be proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel etc.) and competent in spreadsheet and database management software packages. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills are required. Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer services. Job Duties Job Duty Assist the HR Manager and HR Director, in consultation with Columbia Office of Classification and Compensation, determine correct classification of position description(s) based on qualification and salary administration guidelines; helps ensure that equity issues are reviewed and addressed as necessary in the salary administration process. Aids the Dir/Asst. Director in assisting hiring managers with position description descriptions as needed when vacancies, reclassification,etc., arise. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Handles payroll processing in PeopleSoft (terminations, student hires, etc.). Monitors pending and saved ePAF forms initiated by department for payroll problems, investigates payroll issues and determines appropriate actions, effectively communicates results to employees. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Provides assistance to the HR Manager and Assistant HR Director with executing the faculty job vacancy recruitment process for all advertised positions at USC Beaufort, include posting on USC jobs external websites. Supports the Assistant HR Director in training Department chairs and hiring managers in utilizing the online (PeopleAdmin) applicant system from application to the completion of hiring process. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Work daily reports and emails weekly to enroll or make changes to employees benefits. Enter benefits deductions in PeopleSoft. The Universitys benefits packet includes: PEBA Insurance Benefits and Retirement Systems, and USC Supplemental Insurance. Provide employee assistance concerning benefits-related areas, including but not limited to retirement, insurance, supplemental insurance, the Affordable Care Act, and facilitate introduction to SC DeferredCompensation and (b)plans. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty Perform general office administration such as answering phones and provide basic HR information to internal and external customers; serves as backup for all HR related processing as needed. Responds to inquiries from general public, applicants and candidates regarding posted positions and application status. reactivates applications as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned to include participating in University activities and serving on committees. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Position Attributes Employees in Safety-Sensitive or Security-Sensitive positions will be subject to pre-employment and post-employment drug testing in accordance with University policy HR Drug and Alcohol Testing.
