At Jacobs, weu2019re helping our clients innovate and grow by designing, engineering, and executing construction of state-of-the-art facilities that are changing the world.We are seeking a Structural Engineer (Buildings) to join our Dallas or Fort Worth, Texas office as part of Jacobs Federal Solutions design team. Collaborating with our diverse team of architects and engineers, youu2019ll design structural systems for a variety of building types including airports, government facilities, mission critical facilities, laboratories, and manufacturing facilities. Design criteria may include progressive collapse, blast, seismic retrofit, and other unique loading requirements (e.g., simulator, vehicle, thermal gradient).The successful candidate will be a self-motivated licensed professional with at least 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience. Key responsibilities of the role are:u2022 Provide complete design solutions from concept to final design and construction.u2022 Lead and mentor other structural engineers and BIM designers through project execution.u2022 Design and analyze structures to meet project-specific and code requirements utilizing finite element analysis and hand calculations.u00b7 Solve complex, real-world problems for clients and owners using your professional skills and engineering judgment.u2022 Develop clear and comprehensive calculations, basis of design documents, drawings, and specifications.u2022 Perform construction administration activities including review of submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings; construction walkthroughs; and field fixes.u2022 Coordinate and communicate design solutions with clients and other engineering disciplines - including presentations, reports, studies, design review meetings, and training.u2022 Assist with project planning, cost estimating, proposals, and project management.u00b7 Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project managers.#LI-IR1 u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis (Masteru2019s degree preferred)u2022 Professional Engineer (PE) licenseu2022 10+ years of relevant buildings-related structural design experienceu2022 Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, STAAD.Pro, RAM)u2022 Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI)u2022 Desire to take independent initiative and ownership of work, and an eagerness to learnu2022 Strong written and verbal communication skillsu2022 United States citizenship (due to Federal client requirements)u00b7 Experienced in design of structures using structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and other industry-standard materials.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
