Position: Entry Level Safety Specialist - NightsPay Rate: $22.00Schedule: Sun/Mon/Tues every other Weds 6pm - 6amJob Description:The Safety Specialist will be required to sustain the company’s safety rating and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and company standards. Previous experience in transportation safety coordination is recommended.Core Responsibilities & Duties:Document all accidents and distribute reports to all necessary departmentsResponsible for post-accident testing set-up and follow-throughPlaces vehicles out-of-service and drivers under compliance review following accidents, and contacts Operations regarding these vehicles and driversProvides electronic log assistance and guidance and reports as requestedPerforms final audit on driver qualification files and follows information as requiredReview and approve TLS outside carriersRecords and follows up on civilian driver complaintsCommunicate DOT Regulations and DOT interpretations in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsOther duties as assignedQualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalentComputer skills: Excel, Word, Internet, AS400 and web-based systemsRequires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing tasksMust be familiar with standard DOT or Agency Compliance concepts, practices, and proceduresGoal oriented, self-managing with time & project considerationSkills:Work in a confidential capacityAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to handle a heavy workloadAbility to carry out assigned projects to their completion and meet various and required deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writingAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, drivers, and managersForward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
