The company has a long history of delivering highu2011quality electrical and lowu2011voltage installations and is looking for a detailu2011oriented professional to join its operations team. ufeffPosition Overview As a Purchasing Agent, youu2019ll collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and engineering teams to source materials, negotiate pricing, manage purchase orders, and coordinate timely deliveries to job sites. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fastu2011paced construction environment and is looking for stability, longu2011term growth, and handsu2011on involvement in meaningful projects. Key Responsibilities + Prepare and issue purchase orders for electrical materials, communications equipment, tools, and projectu2011specific components. + Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors to secure competitive pricing and dependable delivery performance. + Support procurement for electrical construction, structured cabling, and solar PV projects. + Collaborate with project teams to forecast material needs for commercial, healthcare, educational, and technical facilities. + Track longu2011lead items and coordinate logistical needs for job sites across the NY/NJ region. + Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and volume agreements aligned with project budgets. + Monitor order status, shipping, returns, and inventory accuracy. + Maintain detailed purchasing records and resolve discrepancies related to billing, pricing, or damaged goods. + Assist with warehouse stock coordination and inventory workflows. + Compare vendor proposals and recommend costu2011effective alternatives. + Participate in valueu2011engineering discussions to support project efficiency. Required Skills & Experience + Minimum of 2 yearsu2019 purchasing experience in electrical contracting, construction, or a related industry. + Working knowledge of electrical systems, components, and construction materials. + Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational abilities. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing or constructionu2011related software. Preferred Qualifications + Experience supporting commercial, healthcare, institutional, or infrastructure projects. + Familiarity with low voltage suppliers and electrical distribution networks within the NY/NJ region. + Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and submittals. + Strong attention to detail and consistent followu2011through. + Ability to work effectively in a fastu2011paced, deadlineu2011driven environment. + Customeru2011serviceu2011oriented approach when supporting field operations. + Strong problemu2011solving skills and comfort working in dynamic project settings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pearl River, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $150000.00/hr.
