No County Delaware Street Address 65561 State Highway 10 City Stamford State NY Zip Code 12167 Duties Description Fish and Wildlife Technician 1 to serve in the Region 4 Fisheries Unit. The primary responsibility will be data entry into an Access database. Additional responsibilities include: driving to fishing access sites to assess their condition, work with regional staff to complete fishing access site verification project, and participate in regional fish sampling surveys as needed. The fish sampling work may involve work beyond the typical 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. schedule. This positions requires the ability to wade through streams while carrying 50 pounds of equipment. Minimum Qualifications Thirty (30) semester credit hours, including 12 semester credit hours in fisheries, marine resources or wildlife management; mariculture; marine biology; aquaculture; aquatic, marine or terrestrial ecology; zoology; marine technology; botany; limnology; hydrology; or oceanography. Additional Comments This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/30/2026. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date. Actual work schedule, duties and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview. Must have a valid driveru2019s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position.Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain.Must be able to work in remote areas.Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Weekends and holidays may be required.
