Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Frozen Foods operations. RESPONSIBILITIES u2022Promote trust and respect among associates. u2022Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates. u2022Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals. u2022Establish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets. u2022Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation. u2022Train and develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process. u2022Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines. u2022Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store. u2022Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products. u2022Display a positive attitude. u2022Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results. u2022Understand the storeu2019s layout and be able to locate products. u2022Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management. u2022Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions especially promotions that affect frozen foods. u2022Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor. u2022Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads. u2022Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports. u2022Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory. u2022Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.. u2022Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process. u2022Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering. u2022Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines. u2022Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud. u2022Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Effective communication skills Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction) Ability to handle stressful situations Must be at least 18 years of age Desired High school education or equivalent preferred Management experience preferred Retail Experience Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
