Controls Engineer

Job Title: Controls Engineer ufeffJob Description Join an innovative startup focusing on electric vehicle battery manufacturing and energy storage systems. We are seeking five Electrical Controls Engineers to ensure incoming equipment meets high manufacturing standards. This role involves evaluating schematics, ensuring electrical safety, reviewing machine manuals, wiring, and PLC ladder logic, and integrating and commissioning new equipment. Responsibilities + Assist and lead the evaluation of schematics and electrical safety of new equipment. + Review machine manuals, wiring, and PLC ladder logic. + Integrate and commission new equipment. + Collaborate cross-functionally with Automation, Vision, and Process Engineering teams. + Understand machine safety, ISO manufacturing standards, and reliability practices. Essential Skills + A technical engineering degree (Bachelors or Associates). + 3 - 5 years of experience commissioning automated systems. + Knowledge of machine safety and reliability. + Ability to modify ladder logic (Mitsubishi and Omron safety relays). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Automotive and/or battery manufacturing experience. + Mitsubishi PLC certifications. Work Environment This position requires onsite work at a state-of-the-art facility in Kokomo, Indiana. The role involves 90% of work on the manufacturing floor under the supervision of the Automation Manager. The schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM, with overtime available as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kokomo, IN.
