Summary The Supervisory Medical Instrument Technician (Anesthesia) will provide operational control and oversite of the Medical Instrument Technician team within the Anesthesiology service line. The incumbent will assist and anticipate the needs of the Anesthesia team in direct and indirect patient care, often during difficult situations. Responsibilities Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Supervisory Medical Instrument Technician (MIT) (Anesthesia) must have professional knowledge and skill in applying a wide range of theories, principles, and methodologies of the practice of Anesthesia to a wide range of patient populations. The Supervisory MIT will be responsible for equipment, supplies, and manpower management, which includes administrative duties focusing on the daily assignment of the workforce, retention, evaluation, awarding, promotion and forecast of future needs. The Supervisory MIT will provide program direction and assistance to the selected staff assisting in the day-to day operation. Duties include but not limited to: Perform annual inventory of equipment Coordinates staff training New equipment installations Maintain equipment repair records and ensure timely repair of equipment Submit work orders for repairs and assist with the return to vendor (RTV) processes Coordinate scheduled maintenance to avoid excessive downtime Provide routine maintenance and troubleshoot all anesthesia equipment Effectively set and maintain strict oversight of stock level and lead times of anesthesia supplies, drugs, and equipment Facilitate meeting with Medical Center committees, work groups, and vendors for trial and evaluation of new equipment and products Serves as a liaison with vendors and service representative for Anesthesia related products and services Participates in the development and revision of departmental polices and procedures directly related to the Anesthesiology service Create and assist with developing guidelines and policies for the MIT section, to include Reusable Medical Equipment and other equipment maintenance Act a a resource for Anesthesia providers Support and actively participate in projects, continually improving the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of anesthesia and pain management Provide initial and refresher equipment, product, and procedural training to the staff to maintain competencies for point of care testing, new equipment, and reusable medical equipment Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Hours are based on needs of the service Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
