Overview Job Summary Details: The Industrial Painter performs duties necessary to maintain equipment in good repair, such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions and doors. For information about ABMu2019s benefits, visit ABM Employee Benefits Front Line Team Members ( (Programa de Beneficios de ABM) Basic Qualifications: u2022 Must be 18 years of age or older u2022 No high school diploma, GED or college degree required u2022 No experience required; on the job training provided Preferred Qualifications: u2022 One (1) year of similar work experience preferred Responsibilities: u2022 Use a wide array of painting tools, including thin and thick brushes, airbrushes, and rollers to apply paint coatings ranging from latex, oil based, acrylic, and epoxy floor coverings u2022 Paint large products in client facilities u2022 Clean surfaces prior to layering paint u2022 Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that it is in working order u2022 Safely disposing of chemical waste u2022 Ensure that high safety standards are met u2022 Utilize different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface u2022 Utilize special safety equipment such as painting goggles u2022 Use viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint u2022 Identify surface peculiarities and determine the types of paint required for different applications u2022 Remove previous paint surfaces using masking or a chemical rinse u2022 Paint small items and doing touch-ups u2022 Ensure proper ventilation after the paint is applied u2022 Utilize electroplating equipment to coat metal u2022 Polish metallic surfaces u2022 Paint over wood and plastic A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
