Weu2019re seeking highly skilled and motivated Scientist I to design, lead, and execute complex in vivo pharmacology studies focused on immunology and autoimmune disease models, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)/colitis models ,experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and related immune-mediated disease models in immunocompetent and immunocompromised mice. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: u2022 Provides overall scientific and operational support for in vivo studies. u2022 Contributes and applies expertise and knowledge to collaborate with partners in the design and execution of related studies. u2022 Works with business management and development team for sponsor engagement and project proposal preparation. u2022 Leads multiple ongoing projects to meet expected timelines. u2022 Responsible for new capability implementation and team building. u2022 Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals. u2022 Communicates with clients for designing, analysis, reporting and recording activities. u2022 Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. u2022 Hands-on bench work when necessary. Qualifications Experience / Education u2022 Ph.D. in Immunology, Biology, Pharmacology, or a related life science field. u2022 Industry experience from CRO or postdoctoral experience preferred; strong scientific knowledge , demonstrated experience in rodent handling and in vivo experimental techniques are highly desired. u2022 Expert level skills in the following areas are required: o Perform advanced animal procedures including multiple dosing routes (IV, PO, IP, SC), disease induction, clinical scoring, body weight and symptom monitoring, and collection of blood and tissue samples for downstream analyses. o Establish, optimize, validate, and troubleshoot in vivo inflammation and autoimmune disease models to support preclinical therapeutic evaluation and mechanism-of-action studies. o Analyze and interpret experimental data with scientific rigor, generate clear conclusions, and prepare detailed study reports and data summaries for internal teams and external clients. o Provide technical guidance, training, and study-specific supervision to Research Associates and junior team members while promoting best practices in animal handling and experimental execution. o Communicate directly with external clients to provide study updates, discuss experimental design, troubleshoot technical issues, and present data interpretations to ensure high-quality scientific delivery. o Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously. o Excellent scientific writing and verbal communication skills. o Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative research environment. o Prior in vitro assays (such as flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blot, qPCR, or similar biomarker analyses) and in vivo pharmacology experience are considered a strong asset. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: u2022 Ability to work in a laboratory and vivarium environment with exposure to animals, biohazards, and laboratory chemicals. u2022 Demonstrated time management and multi-tasking skills, ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction. u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead and manage other scientists and associates. u2022 Demonstrated ability for attention to details and concern for impact. u2022 Effective communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback, both verbally and in writing. u2022 Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required. u2022 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Well organized and adaptable to change. u2022 Ability to stand, walk, and perform laboratory procedures for extended periods. Physical Requirements: u2022 Must be able to work in an office environment with minimal noise conditions u2022 Must be able to work in a lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards /Chemicals (List specific Chemicals) u2022 Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility. u2022 Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels. u2022 Ability to stand/Sit/walk for long periods of time. u2022 Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely. u2022 Ability to push/pull 10 lbs. routinely/often/occasionally u2022 Clarity of vision. u2022 Ability to identify and distinguish colors. u2022 Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions. u2022 Ability to climb ladders/stairs/scaffolding. u2022 Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing. u2022 Inside/outside working conditions.
