DescriptionSummary ObjectiveThe purpose of this position is to s supervise financial management of grant programs and activities.This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.u2022 Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. u2022 Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. u2022 Supervises financial analysis, reconciliation, work paper and report preparation, and reimbursement process. u2022 Coordinates the preparation of federal audits and reports. u2022 Reviews and approves grant reports submitted to funding sources and payment of funds on grants. u2022 Audits and reviews grant activities for accuracy and compliance with governmental accounting standards. u2022 Research accounting records to determine financial resources required to implement grant programs and submits recommendations for budget allocations. u2022 Represents the department to governmental agencies, grant funding agencies and the public to provide information and answer questions concerning grant programs, budget, activities and policies and procedures. u2022 Participates in preparing grant applications. u2022 Conducts training needs assessment, develops training curriculum, trains employees, and provides technical assistance and instruction. u2022 Compiles data and prepares reports, documents and correspondence, and completes special projects. u2022 Evaluates and develops goals and objectives, policies, procedures, programs, and performance measures and recommends improvements. u2022 Develops and maintains communication and effective working relationships with metro departments and external agencies and organizations. u2022 Performs related work as assigned.Minimum RequirementsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSu2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, economics, finance, business or public administration or related discipline. u2022 Five (5) years of accounting, finance, budget preparation, budget analysis, financial analysis or internal controls compliance experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSu2022 None.PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.u2022 Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT) Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.u2022 None.AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMPLIANCELouisville Metro Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
