Summary The North Florida South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Specialty Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician (Endocrinology). Ideal applicants are those who want to contribute to the achievement of quality care standards, as well as the growth and development of a VA academic hospital program. You must be an excellent communicator and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center. Responsibilities This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants will be referred each week for consideration until a selection is made. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. The position is based at the Jacksonville VA (JAX 1 VA Clinic) under the section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism within Medical Specialties Service. The JAX VA 1 clinic and the Gainesville (GNV) VA are integrated facilities. The appointed endocrinologist will report to the Chief of Endocrinology at the Malcom Randall VAMC in GNV while practicing out of the JAX VA 1 clinic Duties include: Evaluating, treating and monitoring a variety of endocrine related conditions in the outpatient clinic setting, Performance of ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirate (FNA) thyroid biopsies as needed. A comprehensive consultative clinic is available for patient referral as necessary. A wide spectrum of patients including those with diabetes, thyroid disorders, and non-diabetic endocrine disorders are evaluated and treated. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
