Learn more about Employee Benefits ( _Note: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location._ Job Summary u2013 The Lead Cardiac Rehab is a highly qualified, expert clinician who possess advanced care skills and has demonstrated strong critical thinking skills. The Lead Cardiac Rehab assists the Dir PT/OT/ST in planning, implementing and assessing the daily functions of the Cardiac Rehab services provided, provides supervisory and management oversight for staff members and departmental resources and processes, and is supportive and knowledgeable regarding the established Standards of Care/Standards of Practice and hospital policies and procedures. Job Duties u2013 + Performs patient care roughly 90%of the workweek. + Supervises Cardiac Rehab staff with duties including scheduling, coaching, mentoring, and recognition. Completes performance reviews alongside ST/PT/OT Leads. Participates in interviews for Cardiac Rehab candidates as part of the interview team. + Orders and monitors PAR equipment as needed for Cardiac Rehab services. Provides information regarding equipment needs not on PAR to department director or other hospital leaders. + Analyzes existing programs and services for effectiveness, initiates process improvements, and identifies opportunities for new programs to serve existing and emerging patient or hospital needs. + Serves a pivotal role in customer and staff relations as a primary point-of-first contact for the Cardiac Rehab needs in the hospital. Trains staff and volunteers to model similar exemplary behaviors and skills to ensure very satisfactory interactions with all stakeholders. + Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates education and training opportunities for Cardiac Rehab staff. Monitors Cardiac Rehab staff for compliance with continuing education requirements for the hospital and other regulatory bodies including licensing. + Follows through with Therapy Director guidance regarding compliance with regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, etc.) via training refreshers for staff and volunteers. + Assures effective communication with all hospital staff, customers, and physicians by providing and maintaining open lines of communication. + Initiates corrective conversations with staff members to improve performance and workplace behaviors. Provides input to Therapies Director as needed regarding staff concerns if additional correction action is required. + Over sees the student program for Cardiac Rehab. Job Requirements (Education and Experience) u2013 + Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Alaska + Bacheloru2019s degree + American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification + 3 yearsu2019 clinical experience required + 1 year experience supervising others in a clinical setting preferred Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) u2013 + Excellent written, oral and presentation skills + Strong leadership skills and organizational skills + Initiative and creativity in proposing and implementing projects + Ability to integrate duties with other department programs to maximize impact and create efficiencies. + Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, andPowerPoint. + Organizes and completes work in a timely and professional manner. Physical Demands/Working Conditions u2013 The Lead Cardiac Rehab is defined as Heavy work. The employee is required to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds frequently, and/or 20 pounds constantly. The employee may be exposed to Blood borne Pathogens and will be required to use appropriate PPE to protect themselves from these risks.
