The successful candidate will teach in thefirst-year experience sequence and lead the continued development oftheWriting Across the Curriculum (WAC)program, supported by ahalf-time course release. This role includes guiding faculty acrossdisciplines in using writing to strengthen critical thinking andcommunication.Applicants must have experience with a WAC program or demonstrabletraining in writing pedagogy applicable to WAC contexts.Applicationsreceived by March 7th will receive priority consideration.Qualifications- Master's degree in the relevant field;terminal degree preferred- Proven experience teaching writing-enriched courses- Experience with Writing Across the Curriculum and/or the Navigator program (college and career readiness)- Experience in writing program administration- Strong communication and organizational skills Responsibilities- Teach humanities courses and support the first-year student experience- Develop and deliver general education curriculum, including syllabi and engaging lesson plans- Coordinate faculty across campus to implement Writing Across the Curriculum and/or the Navigator program- Work at the intersection of writing pedagogy and technology-enhanced learning (e.g., generative AI)- Provide individual and group professional development for new and continuing writing instructors- Design and implement assessment strategies for student learning in WACTo ApplyPlease submit the following materials:- Cover letter- Curriculum vitae- Unofficial graduate transcripts showing completion of a terminal degree- Contact information for three professional referencesApplications must be submitted through the Newman University jobportal.Applications received by March 7th will receive priorityconsideration.Founded in 1933, Newman University is a liberal arts institutiongrounded in Catholic values and traditions, yet is respectful of allfaiths.
