Welding Inspector - Power Construction

Strength in estimating and pre-project planning. Constructing cogeneration, combined-cycle, geothermal and waste-to-energy generation and resource facilities. TIC Power builds major EPC power plant projects throughout North America. Location Various Location Lenexa, KS, Louisville, KY Responsibilities + Perform visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) of welds in accordance with AWS, ASME, and project-specific standards. + Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications. + Monitor welding operations to ensure compliance with approved procedures and safety regulations. + Document inspection results, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records. + Collaborate with project engineers, quality assurance teams, and contractors to resolve welding-related issues. + Ensure adherence to power plant safety protocols and environmental regulations. + Participate in root cause analysis for welding defects and recommend corrective actions. Qualifications + Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential from AWS (American Welding Society) u2013 required. + Minimum 3u20135 years of experience in welding inspection, preferably in power plant or heavy industrial projects. + Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, API, and other relevant standards. + Familiarity with various welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) and materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys). + Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings. + Excellent communication and documentation skills. + Ability to work in challenging environments, including elevated structures and confined spaces.
