Primary Function of Organizational Unit As a premier Historically Black University, The NCCU School of Education offers undergraduate, graduate, licensure and professional programs to train students to become teachers, counselors, and administrators in PK-16 schools and related settings. The school offers traditional, classroom-based instruction as well as instruction via the Internet and teleconferencing. Faculty and staff bring diverse knowledge and experience, provide students with unique learning experiences, teach in small class settings for easier access to each other and their instructors, and employ the latest technology. The School of Education houses two academic departments: the Department of Curriculum & Instruction and the Department of Counseling & Higher Education. Primary Purpose of Position The Program Coordinator will support the implementation of an integrated behavioral health training program for counseling students, under the supervision of the Project Director. The Program Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and day-to-day management of the project. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities o At least 2 years of experience in program coordination, administration, or management, preferably in the behavioral health, education, or nonprofit sectors. o Familiarity with the needs and challenges of underserved communities, particularly in behavioral health. o Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, community partners, and other stakeholders. o Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Minimum Education/Experience Bacheloru2019s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Work Hours 8am-5pm Position required to work during periods of adverse weather or other emergencies No Campus Security Authority Designated Position Yes Key Responsibilities and Related Competencies Required Competency Program Administration Duties Oversee the daily operations of the integrated behavioral health training program, ensuring the efficient implementation of program activities, including coursework, internships, and community engagement initiatives. Required Competency Client/Customer Service Duties Provide administrative support to students and faculty, serving as a primary point of contact for questions regarding program requirements, internships, and field placements. Monitor student progress, provide guidance, and ensure students receive the necessary support throughout the training program. Required Competency Communication & Collaboration Duties Serve as a liaison between the PI, faculty, project coordinators, students, community partners, and field supervisors to ensure clear communication and alignment of program goals. Coordinate regular meetings and updates for all involved parties. Required Competency Data Collection/Analysis Duties Assist in the collection of data related to student performance, internship outcomes, and program effectiveness. Maintain detailed records and prepare reports for the PI, funders, and accreditation bodies. Required Competency Planning and Organizing Duties Help coordinate logistics for training, training materials, telehealth services through ECCRC, and other program-related activities. Required Competency Program Monitoring and Administration Duties Work closely with the PI and Project Evaluator to assess program outcomes and make recommendations for improvements. Assist in the implementation of feedback mechanisms to ensure the program is responsive to the needs of students and the communities they serve. Required Competency Data/Information/Records Management Duties Maintain accurate program documentation and help with the preparation of reports for funders and stakeholders.
