Job Description Position Summary: Under management fromCSUHealth Network Medical Services, the Medical Clinic at theCSUMountain Campus provides onsite acute first aid and pre-hospital care to patients for minor injuries and illnesses on a walk-in basis. The Medical Clinic has designated clinic hours and 24-hour nursing assistance for students and guests with acute and emergent concerns. Access to after-hours mental health professionals ensures the support of students and guests with behavioral health concerns. This position assists in the delivery of safe healthcare to university students, staff, and guests. This position is a temporary, full-time Registered Nurse that will live and work at the Mountain Campus Medical Clinic for 22 weeks (approximately5/15/26 u2013 10/16/26). This position reports directly to the Nurse Manager of Specialty Services at theCSUHealth Network Fort Collins campus and will work in close collaboration with the CSU Mountain Campus Leadership Team to carry out the essential job duties. CSU Mountain Campus: TheCSUMountain Campus is nestled in a beautiful, secluded mountain valley at an elevation of 9,000 ft. (2,743 m) covering 1,600-acres, home to the onsite Medical Clinic. Established in 1914, the Mountain Campus serves as a destination campus for research and education, local, national, and international conferences. Programs and activities at the Mountain Campus shape and inspire current and future leadersu2019 lives through learning and immersion experiences in the Rocky Mountains, and facilitate research addressing critical issues in ecology, environmental science, and natural resources. The Mountain Campus operates from mid-May to mid-October each year, and is located 53 miles west of Fort Collins, approximately a 2-hour drive, the last 16 miles of which are on a gravel road. The campus is adjacent to the northern border of Rocky Mountain National Park and shares boundaries with Roosevelt National Forest. Abundant opportunities exist for hiking/backpacking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, and fishing. Office Hours: The Registered Nurse works in the office 5-6 hours per day. Typical office hours are 7:00 AM u2013 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM u2013 6:30 PM daily but are subject to change to meet the needs of campus guests. On-Site Availability: In addition to specified office hours, this position is expected to respond to emergent healthcare needs: + Within 20 minutes + 24/7, unless other coverage has been arranged Perks and Other Details: Free Room and Board for Nurse: + Lodging: The Mountain Campus provides a cabin (341 sq ft) with two bedrooms (one room has a doublebedand the other bedroom has a bunk bed), kitchen, refrigerator,microwave,toilet,porchandcabin wi-fi booster. Showers are available in a staff shower house. On-site laundryis available. Housing may require a shared space and coordination withadditionalstaff. + Threemeals a day are provided. Family Members and Guests Welcome: + Lodging: Invite partners, children, and other guests to stay with you for all or part of your time at the Mountain Campus. The Nurses Cabin can accommodate up to 4 people. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult during Nurse Clinic hours. + No pets permitted. + Meals: Meals are provided for the Nurse and one guest with no extra cost. Meal tickets can bepurchasedin the office ifadditionalguests are with you. Activities: Hiking, fishing, mountain biking, trail running, rock climbing, nature photography, or lounging in a hammock with a good book are just some of the many activities employees can enjoy during their time in the picturesque Mountain Campus setting outside of office hours. Additional Details: + Limited cell phone service + Limited internet access + Work iPhone provided Essential Job Duties: + Assess patient health needs using best practices and clinic protocols; collect data, develop treatment plans, and promote wellness in a remote setting + Provide direct nursing care, including wound/burn treatment, injury management, medication administration, point-of-care testing, and standing orders + Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using RN Charting Forms and SOAP guidelines + Deliver urgent and emergency care, including pre-hospital stabilization and EMS activation when required + Coordinate complex or escalating cases with nursing leadership and the Medical Director; arrange referrals as needed + Conduct public health testing and monitor/report infection control concerns per established guidelines + Educate and train staff in First Aid, EpiPen and Narcan use; maintain required certifications (e.g., Wilderness First Aid) + Collaborate and communicate consistently with campus staff and nursing leadership, including meetings and emergency response activation + Support clinic operations by maintaining compliance, managing inventory and equipment, handling lab results, and ensuring reliable communication systems + Promote the health and safety of elementary-age students through immediate first aid, safe medication administration, and adherence to physician orders, district policies, and state regulations Conditions of Employment: + Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) + Valid Driveru2019s License - Suggest a current, valid driver's license to drive to Fort Collins or surrounding towns for supplies and/or recreation during approved off-time. + Use, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials - Must be willing and able to use, handle, or be exposed to hazardous materials with training + Special Requirements/Other - The CSU Health Network follows CDC guidelines for Employee Health in a healthcare setting, including proof of vaccinations. Employees must show proof of compliance/willingness to comply with the start date. Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university; OR Bacheloru2019s Degree from an accredited college or university AND Associate Degree in Nursing + Possession of current Registered Nurse license through the State of Colorado or compact state + Current certification in AHAapproved Basic Life Support (BLS) + Three years of nursing experience in direct patient care Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working in remote, wilderness, or camp nursing settingor urgent care + Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness First Aid certification + Experience working independently using treatment protocols and guidelines to provide patient care + Experience providing clinical services to college student populationand/or adolescents + Experienceassistingwith mental health needs and other needs as arise + Experience managing care and patient education for individuals with diabetes + Excellent clinical judgment and critical thinking skills + Excellentinterpersonal, listening,verbal andwrittencommunication skills Application Instructions: Applicants needing assistance to submit application materials may contact Tammy Roehrich at .
