All of our camps are held near Bloomsburg, PA. Our camp schedule for the season is: April 17-19, May 8-10, May 31-June 4, June 28-July 2, August 16-20, September 25-27, October 16-18, November 20-22. The stipend for a weekend camp is $300. For a week long camp, it is $600. Please see information about our bonuses at the end of the posting.u00a0JOB SUMMARYCamp counselors are responsible for the day-to-day tasks that directly involve campers.Easterseals currently offers two types of residential camping programs: camping for adults with disabilities age 18 and over, and camps for military children who are ages 5-17.Easterseals currently offers a day camp program, running 6 weeks over the summer for participants ages 5-25.REQUIREMENTS- Minimum age of 16 to staff military camps- Minimum age of 18 to staff adult camps- PA Criminal Record Check- Child Abuse History Clearance- Department of Human Services FBI Clearance- Passing of physical examination and TB testESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Supervise campers to ensure participant safety- Motivate campers to participate in camp activities- Identify individual goals and ensure campers are meeting their desired outcomes- Implement and lead campers in age-appropriate activities- Be willing and able to participate in all camp activitiesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- High School Diploma or G.E.D.- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications- Experience in working with individuals of ranging ages and abilities- Experience in working in a camp setting- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team- Ability to work independently- Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy- Ability to exercise patience and compassion- Ability to plan and adapt- Possess communication and problem -solving skills- Possess strong customer service skills- Enthusiasm in working with program participants and their familiesBONUS OPPORTUNITIES and STIPENDSSeasonal bonuses -- For every additional camp worked during a season (Club Lily and Project Beacon), counselors will receive an extra $50 bonus at the end of a season. So if there are three camps scheduled for a season and a staff member works all three, they can expect to receive $100 on top of their last stipend for the season.Supplies stipend -- New counselors will receive a stipend of $100 to be submitted to their account on the last pay period prior to their first camp (assuming that they have completed their onboarding process). This is to go towards any supplies needed to make working at camp more comfortable, whether it be new rain gear, hiking boots, etc.End of year bonuses -- If a member of the camp staff were to work at every camp throughout the year (Club Lily and Project Beacon), they will receive $150 on top of their last stipend for the year.Mileage stipend -- Counselors driving their personal vehicles to attend camp will receive a bonus stipend of $40 on top of the stipend they receive for working a camp. This stipend is not applicable to individuals who did not drive a personal vehicle, carpool with another staff member, or are dropped off and picked up by someone not attending the camp.Easterseals has been providing life-changing services for over 100 years.
