Expertise in Medicaid and other assistance programs is essential for guiding patients through the complexities of insurance coverage and payment arrangements.Schedule:Full-time | 80 hours every two weeks | PaynesvilleDay shift | 8-hour shifts | 8am-4:30pmOnsite positionPay and Benefits:Starting pay begins at $19.91 per hour; exact wage determined by years of related experiencePay range: $19.91 - $29.87 per hourTuition reimbursement and college grant programs availableFull-time: medical, dental, PTO, retirement, employee discounts and more!Qualifications:Associate's degree in business or a healthcare related program or 2 years relevant healthcare or collection experience in lieu of educationHospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) Training Certification and MNsure Certification through the Department of Human Services. To include recertification on an annual basis within 60 Days RequiredExperience with use of Microsoft Office suite, computer systems and softwareAbility to research insuranceAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks in a timely manner with attention to detail and accuracyKnowledge of billing and collection principles, including all applicable laws and regulations pertinent to healthcare collections is preferred.Ability to read and communicate effectively in English; Bi-lingual Spanish or Somali a plus.Department info:The Financial Counselor is responsible for working with patients virtually or in person to provide information regarding anticipated expenses, insurance coverage, payment options/resources and financial assistance programs. They should have in-depth knowledge of Medicaid and its affiliated programs so we can best meet the needs of our patients. The Financial Counselor should strive to handle accounts in ways that best affect patient experience and minimize bad debts. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
