RN-Same Day Surgery (48 hours per period)

Summary Under the direction of, and in collaboration with unit management, performs responsibilities exercising initiative, judgment and independent decision-making within the scope of the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policy and other governing organizations. Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation) in a systematic approach to the direct and indirect care of patients and their families. The SDS/PACU RN provides care in the Peri-surgical setting directed toward meeting both the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient. The RN is a resource person and teacher. Care given reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. All will be expected to report unsafe conditions to a member of management.Required Education and ExperienceGraduate from an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.Knowledge of nursing principles, policies, procedures and medical ethics equivalent to years of experience.Circulating experience required, completion of Periop 101 course may be considered in lieu of circulating experience.
