Mental / Behavioral Health Technician - Adults & PediatricsFull-Time | Part-Time | PRNMake a meaningful impact every day by supporting individuals with mental health disorders and developmental disabilities. As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will provide hands-on care, therapeutic support, and crisis intervention under the supervision of licensed clinicians in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.Position OverviewThe Behavioral Health Technician supports patients by assisting with daily living activities and implementing therapeutic interventions designed to promote safety, independence, and emotional well-being. This role is both physically and emotionally demanding and best suited for resilient, compassionate individuals committed to patient-centered care.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient CareAssist with hygiene, meal preparation, and medication managementMonitor, observe, and document patient behavior and overall well-beingBehavioral & Therapeutic SupportImplement individualized treatment plansSupport patients in developing coping and life skillsCrisis Intervention & SafetyRespond to behavioral crises and de-escalate situationsMaintain a safe environment for patients and staffDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate, confidential documentationAdhere to HIPAA, safety protocols, and organizational policiesCollaboration & EducationWork closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teamsParticipate in treatment planning and team meetingsEducate patients and families; assist with group therapy and workshopsQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma requiredAssociate degree or higher in a related field preferredExperiencePrior behavioral or mental health experience preferredCertificationsCPR/First Aid requiredCBHT or similar certifications are a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong communication, teamwork, and documentation skillsCrisis intervention abilities and emotional resilienceMindfulness, empathy, self-regulation, social awareness, and emotional agilityPhysical & Training RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and crawlRegularly lift up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbsRemain vigilant, attentive, and wakeful throughout all shiftsSuccessfully complete at least three consecutive days of safety hold trainingPatients may present unsafe behaviors, limited coping skills, and limited ability to perform activities of daily livingWorking ConditionsClinical, residential, or community-based settingsExposure to challenging behaviorsFlexible scheduling including weekends and holidaysPay & DifferentialsStarting pay: $17.00/hourEarning potential up to $25.50/hour based on education, experience, and shiftShift DifferentialsWeekday evenings: +$3.00/hourOvernight shifts: +$2.00/hourWeekend shifts (Friday 7:00pm - Monday 7:00am): +$2.00/hourAvailable ShiftsDay Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pmWeekday Evening: 3:00pm - 11:30pmIf you’re passionate about mental and behavioral health and ready to make a difference in the lives of others, this role offers purpose, growth, and competitive earning potential.
