Review and coach site leadership on management of daily operations and staff, including reporting. Monitor processes and budgets to identify opportunity to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Develop a workforce plan to align the needs and priorities of projects and to identify and develop key employees.Location & Travel:You'll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping our team build renewables projects. This position is remote with regular travel (50-75%) to job sites. A vehicle allowance will be provided. the organizationPromote culture of quality workmanship in the fieldPromote and communicate the Company quality policies and proceduresDevelop and enhance operational policies and procedures for maximizing safety, performance and profitabilityParticipate and/or lead problem solving and continuous improvement effortsMonitor key metrics and develop operational strategies for profitabilityDevelop crew and equipment planners with the Project Management TeamManage budget and coordinate materials to ensure ongoing operations are equipped and staffedEstablish, communicate, and evaluate progress towards field goals and benchmarksResolve all issues and concerns relating to field office operationsWork with Project Management Team on salary, allowances, payments, etc.Develop best practices and standard tools to use to continuously improve operational efficiencyStreamline all field office operational, functional and administrative systems and insure they are in compliance with local laws and regulationsDevelop workforce plan with Project Management Team for each project to include the general labor needs, supervisors, site management and equipment necessary for each project, as well as identify key employees and training needs that can be tied to SMART goalsMonitor and manage field office expenses with assigned budgetEnsure timely preparation and submission of required field reportingCoach management on equipment planners to ensure accountability for equipmentOversee HR related procedures including recruitment, promotions, transfers, termination and salary negotiationsParticipate in Root Cause Analysis investigations and drive closure of accompanying action itemsProvide feedback and performance related discussions to staffTraining:Participate in Performance Evlauations and processing of all ESRs, Wage Changes and Manpower requestsEvaluate, train, mentor all field supervisionSupervisory ResponsibilitiesComplete performance evaluations for direct reportsCross-train staff to be able to move between industrial, civil, power, oil and gas, etc.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in quality, industrial technology, business management, construction, science or related major or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong civil experience within EPC or similar construction project environments, previous experience in Construction Manager job titles is preferredExperience working with craft construction crews and construction managersSolar construction project experience preferredSupervisory experience preferredASQ or Certified Six Sigma Green Belt preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Take reasonable care of your own and others' health
