SAIIA CONSTRUCTION IS HIRING FOR: Business Development & Sustainability SpecialistThe Business Development & Sustainability Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to supporting the VicePresident, Business Development in developing business relationships, monitoring client’s needs in support of future growth opportunities, and leading sustainability activities for the organization.Company OverviewFounded by Sam Saiia as Birmingham Excavating Co. in 1946, the company now known as Saiia Construction is an industrial heavy civil contractor of choice for the power generation, mineral and aggregate mining, and pulp and paper markets. With over 35,000 employees and 400 offices nationwide, we provide flexibility and career growth in dynamic work environments.Join one of the largest construction firms in the country (Engineering News-Record [ENR]: #1 in Power, #17 Top 50 Domestic Heavy Contractors, #20 Transportation Contractor).Support the Vice President of Business Development to grow, develop, and sustain Saiia Construction Company’s client base and sales in the areas of Civil Industrial, Power Generation, Mining, and Pulp and Paper services.Support the Vice President of Business Development to help meet client requests related to sustainability activities.Support the Vice President, Business Development in the coordination and execution of the proposal development and submission process.Networks with new and existing client teams, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, beneficial reuse firms, and recyclers to build relationships and secure business opportunities.Identifies opportunities and provides updates to Saiia team on future bid projects with clients.Prepare training sessions to educate and engage appropriate Saiia Construction team members and leadership on sustainability initiatives.Visit project sites to evaluate scope of work when bid opportunities become available.Identify and research competitors.Understand strengths and weaknesses of competitors.Develop clear understanding of client decision drivers.Supports the process of developing bid packages based on scope of work, defined win strategies, integrated sustainability and diversity targets of the client.Supports the bid package process, working closely with project management and estimating.Maintain an organized electronic filing system of documents, presentations, history on projects and photos.Enter bid opportunities into Salesforce software and update the status of proposals if requested.May be exposed to moderate noise levels in the office.Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field of study preferred.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a business development role.Proficient with computer systems and MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Technical writing and editing: Ability to write proposal sections.Experience with ERP system - Vista Viewpoint Preferred.Must be detail oriented.Must have excellent organizational skills.Must have excellent time management abilities.Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal correspondence.Ability to prioritize tasks in accordance with urgency.Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents.Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook.What's in it for YouFinancial WellbeingCompetitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care)Health & WellnessMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and childrenDiabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug Plan, Pet Insurance, Weight Management Drug DiscountDiscounted National Gym Membership NetworkFamily & LifestylePaid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Bereavement LeaveMilitary Leave, including Benefits ContinuationEmployee Assistance ProgramPlanning for the UnexpectedShort and long-term disability, life insurance, and accidental death & dismembermentVoluntary life insurance, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity coverageEmergency Travel Assistance ProgramGroup legal planPosition may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
