Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 400 providers and 1200 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. For the health of our community ... we are proud to announce that we are a tobacco-free campusAs our Surgery Procedure Coordinator, you will be a central pivot, orchestrating seamless and efficient surgical procedures while ensuring comprehensive patient support.Every day, you will meticulously coordinate schedules for physicians, ORs, anesthesiologists, equipment, and staff per physician recommendations. You'll act as a critical liaison, communicating with all parties, distributing pre/post-op information, and expertly managing financial/insurance details to secure prior authorizations.To be successful in this role, you will possess exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of surgical workflows. Your ability to anticipate needs and provide proactive support will be paramount.Maintains hospital standards of zero tolerance for mislabeled specimens and collects laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol.Assists the nurse/physician during examinations, treatments and procedures as requested. Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies.Documents clinically relevant findings in the patient's record according to hospital protocols and clinical protocols.Completes hospital forms per protocol. Performs follow-up actions as directed.Monitors and records patient vital signs, weight, positioning, ADL's I&O activity and blood glucose readings per RN instructions, hospital protocols, and standards of care.Initiates orders according to SJHMC time performance standards-STAT-Within 5 minutes, Discharge/Transfer- within 10 minutes, Routine- within 30 minutes.Conducts front desk duties as needed (check in, registrations, scheduling appointments, template oversight (if applicable), printing forms and schedules, posting payments and charge reconciliation, and reporting any issues with the system). Effectively utilizes IDX downtime procedures as needed.MINIMUMHigh School Graduate or GEDAs related to Medical Assistant:Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program. Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours to satisfy the minimum education requirementsDemonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patientsAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPRANDAs related to Surgery Procedure Coordinator:One year related Surgery Procedure Coordinator experience Familiarity with operating room scheduling processes is criticalAbility to effectively interact with insurance carriersGather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure/surgeryPREFERREDPrevious MA experienceElectronic Medical Record (EMR) experiencePrevious experience in designated specialtyPrevious office experience
