CVP is seeking Registered Nurses to join our team in providing our Nation's Veterans with long-term care services at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. The RN will utilize their broad based clinical knowledge to effectively assess, implement health promotion and prevention interventions, manage acute and chronic illness states, assist patient/residents in the attainment of optimal levels of functioning rehabilitation, and evaluate patient/resident response to actual or potential health problems.We have full time, part-time and PRN contract opportunities available.Utilize the nursing process in managing, developing, implementing, and evaluating each resident's individual plan of care with the interdisciplinary team to attain specific clinical outcomesProvide a full range of nursing care to residents with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problemsDemonstrate leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with othersMaintain patient/resident confidentiality and a safe patient/resident care environmentAssess and act on significant changes in the patient's/resident's health conditionCollect and document pertinent data into the electronic patient/resident medical record using designated templatesComplete nursing assessments within required time frames and in accordance with policy and procedureMeet the health care needs of patients/residents by assessing and assisting them to meet expressed needsPrioritize and complete tasks within the assigned shiftUpdate patient/resident care plans and notify assigned physician of any changes in conditionPractice the VA core values of Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence (ICARE)Document patient progress and chart the patient's response to medications and treatmentsPerform wound care including dressing changes (sterile and non-sterile) and obtaining wound cultures as necessaryProvide care for tracheostomies, central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, and catheters as neededPerform fall risk assessments and skin assessments (Braden Scale) to identify and prevent injuriesComplete required documentation within established timeframesParticipate in quality improvement activitiesAbility to pass a government background investigation (US Citizenship required)Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a Master's Degree in Nursing requiredCurrent, full, active, and unrestricted RN license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or District of ColumbiaBasic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association2+ years providing Geriatric, Community Living or Long Term CareTechnical proficiency including strong computer skills and ability to learn VA electronic medical record systemsLocationBattle Creek VA Medical Center, 5500 Armstrong Rd, Battle Creek, MIAbout CVPCVP is an award-winning healthcare and next-gen technology and consulting services firm solving critical problems for healthcare, national security, and public sector clients.
