Payroll Specialist u2013 Bakersfield, CA (Onsite) We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations and ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing across the organization. This role reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and is responsible for managing payroll data, coordinating payroll processing, and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. Key Responsibilities u2022 Collect and review payroll information including hours worked, PTO, garnishments, benefit deductions, and retirement contributions u2022 Monitor and review timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and completeness u2022 Partner with department supervisors to resolve missing or incorrect time entries u2022 Prepare and submit biweekly payroll data to the payroll processing system u2022 Process manual checks and handle payroll adjustments when needed u2022 Assist with paycheck and pay stub distribution u2022 Prepare and upload biweekly 401(k) contribution files and process HSA contributions u2022 Maintain payroll records and update employee information such as pay rate changes u2022 Review weekly hours submitted by external staffing agencies u2022 Generate payroll reports for internal management review u2022 Support employee inquiries related to payroll in a timely and professional manner u2022 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations u2022 Assist with 401(k) and social compliance audits and coordinate with external auditors u2022 Work closely with HR to support overlapping payroll and HR processes u2022 Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information Pay Details: $27.00 to $32.00 per hour Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: + The California Fair Chance Act + Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance + Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers + San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Massachusetts Candidates Only: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment.
