Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Full-Time Skilled Nursing / Long-Term Care The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily clinical operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality, compliant resident care. This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and serves as a visible, supportive leader to the nursing team. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership + Support the DON in directing, evaluating, and improving nursing services + Ensure compliance with DOH, CMS, and federal/state regulations + Promote a culture of accountability and clinical excellence across all shifts Team Management + Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and retention of RNs, LPNs, and CNAs + Provide mentorship and ongoing clinical supervision + Address performance concerns and support professional development Survey Readiness + Maintain the facility in a continuous survey-ready state + Assist in leading DOH and CMS audits + Support development and execution of plans of correction Care Coordination + Collaborate with physicians, rehab, social services, and dietary teams + Oversee and review individualized care plans, including high-acuity residents (vents, dialysis, sub-acute rehab) Operational Oversight + Assist with managing staffing levels, scheduling, and labor management + Monitor clinical supplies and departmental resources + Provide floor support during high-volume or high-acuity shifts Quality Improvement + Participate in QAPI initiatives to improve outcomes and star ratings + Track and analyze key metrics including falls, readmissions, infection rates, and wound care Candidate Requirements + Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice + Minimum 3u20135 years of LTC or SNF experience + Prior leadership experience (Unit Manager, ADON, or similar role preferred) + Strong knowledge of DOH/CMS regulations, MDS processes, and reimbursement models + Experience supporting high-acuity populations + EHR proficiency (PointClickCare or SigmaCare preferred) This role is ideal for a confident, visible nursing leader who is ready to support facility-wide clinical excellence, strengthen staff development, and grow into future Director-level leadership.
