Sql Database Administrator

Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: u2022 Develop database requirements by reviewing business requirements; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems. u2022 Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications. u2022 Install revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements. u2022 Manages database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products. u2022 Manage production, QA, and development database environments. u2022 Support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures. u2022 Design and implement high availability database infrastructures utilizing failover clustering, SAN replication, and other high availability technologies. u2022 Prepares users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems. u2022 Provides information by answering questions and requests. u2022 Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities. u2022 Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. u2022 Design and manage ETL process for data conversions and data exchange between systems. u2022 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. u2022 Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and regulations and instructions. u2022 Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence and E-mail. u2022 Provide high quality customer service to all internal and external customers. u2022 Assist developers with writing effective queries and performance tuning. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: u2022 Possess training in relational database administration, and implementation using SQL Server. u2022 Knowledge of Linux and Windows Systems administration. u2022 Must have good interpersonal skills. u2022 Requires advanced problem-solving abilities. u2022 Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). u2022 Knowledge of ETL processes. u2022 Knowledge of Linux shell scripting andor Windows PowerShell a plus. u2022 Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio a plus. fu2022 Experience with Microsoft DevOps (TFS) a plus. u2022 Experience with Database monitoring tools and backup software Skills Database administrator, Sql, Sql server, Performance tuning, Sql database, ssis, data conversion, powershell scripting, Azure Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tallahassee, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.00 - $46.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
