Fairlawn for PTO, vacations, backlogsWill consider new graduates.Radiology candidates who accept a part-time or full-time position with University Hospitals are eligible for:Competitive hourly rateEnhanced PTO for candidates with 5+ years of relevant work experienceSign-on bonus ($10,000 for full-time or $5,000 for part-time).Tuition reimbursement after six monthsCareer Ladder ProgressionFree ParkingA Brief OverviewA Mammography Technologist performs specialized X-ray examinations of the breast to assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of breast cancer, ensuring patient comfort and safety while accurately positioning the breast for optimal image quality, all under the direction of a radiologist; requiring a high level of technical expertise and patient care skills to produce high-quality diagnostic images.What You Will DoPerforms mammography testing and procedures on patients.Performs quality mammograms following prescribed techniques, with minimal radiation exposure to patient and self.Knowledge of MQSA, required QC procedures and required patient outcomes tracking.Able to perform all applicable equipment quality control.Accurately records all requested database / log recordsAssists radiologists as needed.Consistently follows hospital and department policies and protocolsMaintains patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (HIPPA) and facility policiesTakes responsibility for self development and supports learning environment.Provides age-specific care to neonates through geriatrics.Consistently follows hospital and department guidelines for patient identification and safety.Adheres to ALARA, Image Gently and Image Wisely standardsAdheres to hospital mammography safety standardsEffectively follows directions to maintain compliance with State and Federal Agencies.Effectively follows directions to maintain department readiness based on DNV standardsDisplays a commitment to Hospital Mission and ValuesMaintains licensure and continuing education requirement.Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.Proficient at instructing students and new staff members after 1 year experience.Additional ResponsibilitiesUses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department by entering and completing correct billing codes in the RIS and on patient billing sheets.Performs other duties as plies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
