DescriptionThis is a combined posting for an Associate Phlebotomist, Phlebotomist, and Senior Phlebotomist . The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. If you have the qualifications of any one of these three positions, we you encourage you to apply.Under the direction of laboratory leadership and the supervision of a licensed phlebotomist, the Associate Phlebotomist obtains accurate and reliable blood and body fluid specimens from properly identified adult and/or pediatric patients. Identifies phlebotomy difficulties, defines appropriate solutions and coordinates resources. Maintains outstanding relationships with client and technical staff.Under the direction of laboratory leadership, the Phlebotomist obtains accurate and reliable blood and body fluid specimens from properly identified adult and/or pediatric patients. Identifies phlebotomy difficulties, defines appropriate solutions and coordinates resources. Maintains outstanding relationships with client and technical staff. The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining, preparing and ensuring specimen integrity of specimens such as blood, urine, sputum, stool and various cultures by logging, spinning, and distributing to laboratory testing areas. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept and reflects the mission and values of Providence Health & Services.A Senior Phlebotomist must be able to perform all Phlebotomist duties without assistance. Must be able to draw a minimum workload of 10 - 12 patients per hour. Number of patients who are missed and need to be redrawn should be less than 3 per month.
