Description The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the dayu2011tou2011day accounting operations of the organization. This role ensures timely and precise processing of transactions, reconciliations, and reporting to support financial decisionu2011making. The ideal candidate is detailu2011oriented, organized, and proficient in accounting systems. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice entry, payment processing, and collections followu2011up. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts on a regular basis. Prepare and process payroll. Maintain vendor files, Wu20119s, and support yearu2011end 1099 preparation. Assist in monthu2011end and yearu2011end closing procedures. Monitor cash flow and prepare cash flow reports as needed. Support budgeting and forecasting efforts with accurate transactional data. Organize and maintain financial documentation for audit readiness. Generate routine financial reports (P& L, balance sheet, aging reports). Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and customers regarding financial matters. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field. Proficiency in accounting software. Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP preferred). Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications. Excellent organizational and timeu2011management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in industry-specific accounting (manufacturing, nonprofit, construction, etc.). Associate or bacheloru2019s degree in accounting. Experience preparing documents for external CPA reviews or audits. Familiarity with payroll systems. Soft Skills Strong communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
