Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Hickory, North Carolina. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in managing financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting department. Part-Time Only- about 15 hours weekly. Quickbooks experience a must. Responsibilities: u2022 Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner to maintain operational efficiency. u2022 Verify and code invoices in compliance with company policies and procedures. u2022 Prepare and execute check runs, ensuring all payments are properly authorized. u2022 Maintain organized and up-to-date records of accounts payable transactions. u2022 Reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues related to invoices and payments. u2022 Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address inquiries and ensure smooth communication. u2022 Support month-end closing activities by providing necessary accounts payable data. u2022 Assist in improving systems and workflows for enhanced accounts payable operations. u2022 Provide regular reports and updates on payment statuses and outstanding invoices. u2022 Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company guidelines. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role. u2022 Proficiency in invoice processing, coding, and check runs. u2022 Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. u2022 Ability to resolve discrepancies and manage payment inquiries effectively. u2022 Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions. u2022 Familiarity with accounting software and tools. u2022 Knowledge of financial regulations and best practices in accounts payable. u2022 Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
