Payroll Consultant

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Payroll Consultant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Hamel, Minnesota. This role involves managing payroll operations for a diverse workforce while also driving improvements in payroll processes and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both hands-on payroll management and strategic project work, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Responsibilities: u2022 Process biweekly payroll for approximately 1,400 employees, including exempt managers, hourly staff, and field-based workers. u2022 Manage payroll under government contracts, ensuring compliance with Davis-Bacon and prevailing wage laws. u2022 Perform manual prevailing wage calculations and train others on the process. u2022 Resolve compliance issues related to prevailing wage laws and support the transition to weekly payroll for improved adherence to regulations. u2022 Lead payroll-related projects aimed at automating and streamlining processes. u2022 Collaborate on initiatives to integrate global payroll operations into the Dayforce system. u2022 Provide expertise in payroll laws and regulations, including Davis-Bacon requirements. u2022 Train and support future payroll staff while improving compliance and operational efficiency. u2022 Ensure all employees are paid accurately, on time, and with minimal errors. u2022 Utilize tools like Dayforce and Microsoft Excel to manage payroll operations effectively. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 10 years of experience in full-cycle payroll management. u2022 Proficiency in handling multi-state payroll operations for large employee populations. u2022 Expertise in payroll systems, particularly Dayforce. u2022 Strong knowledge of Davis-Bacon Act and prevailing wage compliance. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for payroll-related tasks. u2022 Familiarity with payroll for over 500 employees, including exempt and hourly staff. u2022 Ability to manage complex payroll processes and implement strategic improvements. u2022 Experience working under government contracts and adhering to strict compliance standards.
