Job Title: Asphalt Mix Specialist Job Description The Aggregate/Asphalt Mix Design Specialist is responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing aggregate and asphalt mix designs to meet project specifications, DOT requirements, and company performance goals. This role involves close collaboration with plant operations, quality control technicians, project managers, and state and local agencies to ensure consistent quality and efficient production. Responsibilities + Develop, test, and optimize aggregate and asphalt mix designs. + Ensure compliance with project specifications and DOT requirements. + Collaborate with plant operations to maintain consistent quality. + Work with quality control technicians and project managers. + Liaise with state and local agencies for efficient production. Essential Skills + 2u20135+ years of experience in asphalt mix design, materials testing, or QC in road construction. + Understanding of DOT mix design procedures. + Experience operating gyratory compactors, ovens, sieves, balances, and related lab equipment. + Strong analytical skills and accuracy with data and documentation. + Proficiency with mix design and QC software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + DOT certifications for asphalt mix design, BIT Level 1/2 QC, or aggregate technician. + Experience with RAP/RAS optimization and performance-based testing (Hamburg, IDEAL-CT, etc.). + Knowledge of asphalt plant operations and production troubleshooting. Work Environment Work primarily in road construction across Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Iowa. Spend 70% of your time in Alex and 30% at field sites. You will be provided a company truck for travel from the office/lab to the field. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Alexandria, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
