Facilities Technician (Plumber)

Job Title: Technician (Plumber) Job Description The Technician (Plumber) is tasked with monitoring the Building Authority Automation Systems and performing plumbing, preventative maintenance, repair, and alterations for all buildings under supervision. This role reports to the Facility Operator Supervisor and the Maintenance Tech Supervisor. Responsibilities + Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing systems including valves, pumps, R.P devices, plumbing fixtures, and irrigation systems. + Maintain and repair drinking fountains, fire sprinkler systems, kitchen and laundry equipment, as well as air, gas, water, sewer, and drainage lines. + Conduct repairs and installations for fire sprinkler systems and lawn irrigation systems. Essential Skills + Proven experience in plumbing, repair, piping, valves, pumps, and plumbing fixtures. + Working knowledge in preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing systems. + Experience in facility maintenance, lighting repair, power tool usage, drywall, carpentry, preventive maintenance, and painting. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Familiarity with equipment and tools including Mega Ohm, Amp and Volt meters, Circuit Traces, Pipe Benders, Trucks, Ladders, Electrical Hand Tools, and Safety Equipment. Work Environment This position primarily operates indoors with routine exposure to outdoor conditions, within the court building attached to the prison. The role involves balancing independent tasks with collaborative work, utilizing a variety of maintenance tools and equipment daily. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
