(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.We have an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our Datalinks Network Engineering Group in Poway, California. This position will focus on the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure supporting GA-ASI's datalink and communication systems for both Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Beyond Line-of-Sight (BLOS) / SATCOM applications.Working closely with the Datalinks Engineering, System Integration, and Flight Operations teams, this individual will contribute to the architecture, configuration, and sustainment of complex IP network systems that interface with RF communication and mission networks for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, implement, and support IP-based network infrastructure in support of Datalink systems used across aircraft, ground control stations, and test environments. Collaborate with RF Systems Engineers to develop and integrate network solutions that support LOS and BLOS/SATCOM communications architectures. Develop and document network configurations, interface definitions, and system integration plans. Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues impacting datalink operation, including routing, switching, and interface control. Work with internal project teams and customer representatives to define, analyze, and refine system requirements. Support System Integration Lab (SIL) and flight test environments by configuring, monitoring, and maintaining mission network components. Coordinate network modifications, upgrades, and lifecycle management for routers, switches, firewalls, and supporting hardware. Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact mission network performance or availability. Develop networking configurations in support of cybersecurity requirements and continuously update/maintain network devices for cyber hardening. Produce technical documentation including system specifications, network design drawings, and test procedures. Participate in cross-functional design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
