Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Harford County, Maryland. In this long-term contract position, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring the accuracy of reports and compliance with accounting standards. This role requires an experienced individual with strong leadership capabilities and expertise in managing complex financial processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. u2022 Lead the accounting close process, coordinating activities to meet deadlines and maintain financial integrity. u2022 Develop and oversee the annual budget, collaborating with departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals. u2022 Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software to streamline financial operations and reporting. u2022 Provide strategic financial insights to leadership, supporting informed decision-making. u2022 Monitor and improve accounting systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and reliability. u2022 Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards. u2022 Train and mentor staff, fostering detail oriented growth within the finance team. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles. u2022 Proven expertise in financial statement preparation and analysis. u2022 Strong knowledge of the accounting close process and related procedures. u2022 Demonstrated experience in creating and managing annual budgets. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software. u2022 Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively. u2022 Thorough understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or certification preferred.
