Billing Clerk

Description We are looking for a skilled Billing Clerk to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely billing operations, with a focus on compliance and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Medicaid billing, particularly within the behavioral health or human services sectors, and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and submit claims for services rendered to ensure timely processing. u2022 Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments. u2022 Generate weekly billing reports and address reimbursement denials. u2022 Manually post and allocate payments to appropriate accounts. u2022 Verify billing accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. u2022 Compile monthly financial reports, including petty cash and general ledger reconciliations. u2022 Create authorization lists and maintain updated records. u2022 Support annual audits and budget preparation processes. u2022 Participate in billing-related meetings and training sessions. u2022 Uphold organizational policies and standards while working collaboratively with diverse teams. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred; Associate degree or equivalent experience will be considered. u2022 Proven experience in billing operations, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. u2022 Familiarity with Medicaid billing processes, particularly in behavioral health or human services settings, is highly desirable. u2022 Proficiency in computerized billing systems and software. u2022 Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. u2022 Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. u2022 Excellent written and verbal communication skills. u2022 Compliance with mandatory training, drug testing, TB testing, and criminal background checks.
