Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Irmo, South Carolina. This position will focus on managing invoice processing, coding, and check runs while supporting the accounting team in maintaining accurate and timely operations. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and can quickly adapt to established procedures. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and code invoices promptly and accurately to ensure proper expense tracking. u2022 Conduct routine check runs and verify payment details for accuracy. u2022 Assist in clearing older outstanding items to bring accounts payable records up to date. u2022 Support the accounting team with daily AP tasks to maintain smooth operations. u2022 Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during invoice processing. u2022 Identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments. u2022 Collaborate with team members to streamline accounts payable workflows. u2022 Maintain up-to-date records and documentation for auditing purposes. u2022 Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries or issues. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role. u2022 Proficiency in invoice processing and coding. u2022 Familiarity with check runs and payment procedures. u2022 Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. u2022 Ability to manage a high volume of transactions efficiently. u2022 Excellent organizational and time management skills. u2022 Effective communication skills for vendor and team interactions. u2022 Knowledge of accounting systems and tools is a plus.
