Job Title: Assembler Job Description As an Assembler, your primary role will be to manufacture all of the necessary parts to build complete window units, deliver these parts, and assemble them into a finished window. You will be responsible for correctly fitting parts together to assemble either a sash or a frame, as well as installing hardware in position and attaching it to the part. It is your duty to inspect the windows during assembly to detect and eliminate defective parts, ensuring that the windows work properly before packaging. In addition, you will be cross-trained to perform other roles in the shop as required, therefore a willingness to learn and adapt is key. Responsibilities + Manufacture all necessary parts to build complete window units. + Deliver parts and assemble them into a finished window. + Fit parts together correctly to assemble either a sash or a frame. + Install hardware in position and attach it to the part. + Inspect windows during assembly to detect and eliminate defective parts. + Ensure that windows work properly before packaging. + Be cross-trained to perform other roles in the shop as required. Essential Skills + Assembly skills + Measurement skills + Installation skills + Attention to detail + Adaptability + Willingness to be cross-trained Additional Skills & Qualifications + 6+ months of production, assembly, construction, or manufacturing experience. + Mechanical aptitude + Experience with hand tools and power tools + General labor experience + Understanding of blueprints + Machine operation experience + No certifications required, but assembly experience within a manufacturing environment is nice to have. Work Environment This is a fully on-site position in Iowa, working Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break. There is potential to work on Fridays depending on demand. The work environment involves being on your feet all day in a large building that is not climate-controlled, so it can get very hot or cold depending on the season. Appropriate attire includes jeans, a work-appropriate shirt, and closed-toed shoes. Shorts are not allowed, and no steel toes are required for window assembly. Necessary PPE, including ear and eyewear, will be provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Adel, IA.
