How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) As aFlight Safety Data Science Co-op, you will play a key role in supportingDeltau2019s Safety Management System (SMS), a core component of the companyu2019sproactive approach to identifying, analyzing, and mitigating safety-of-flightrisks. You will be supporting the continuous monitoring of safety-of-flightrisks and the development and execution of Flight Operations Safety RiskAssessments that require Flight Safety data sources to be completed. This willinvolve conducting research, preparing and performing analyses using flightdata, pilot reports, fatigue reports, damage or injury data and additionaloperational and safety data sources as needed. You will become familiar withthe environment and experience of various frontline work groups, especiallypilots, and you will closely collaborate with partners across Flight Safety,Corporate Safety, and Flight Operations to advance safety initiatives. Additionalresponsibilities extend across all Flight Safety programs including: accidentand incident investigations, Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA),Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), Pilot Fatigue Risk Management, andSafety Promotion. You may also support and represent Delta Flight Safety atselect internal and external safety meetings, helping communicate safetyinsights and strengthen organizational safety culture. What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) + Must be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a 4-year academic institution. + At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale. + Must be available to work on a full-time basis for 3 alternating semesters: Fall 2026, Summer 2027, and Spring 2028. + This position requires student to work for 3 alternating semesters. Student cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op/Intern at the same time, which may delay graduation by 1-2 semesters. + Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the Co-op. + Working as a Co-op/Intern does not guarantee a full-time opportunity at Delta Air Lines upon graduation. This position is intended to provide educational and professional work experience to prepare the student for the workforce. + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Project management and personal management skills + Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. + Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. + Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. + Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
