Principal Propulsion Engineer, Combustion Devices

Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will design and develop combustion devices (injectors, chambers, nozzles, thrusters, igniters, and related components) for various rocket engines and spaceflight systems. You will be responsible for a combustion device'scomplete product life-cycle from initial requirements through flight qualification including design, manufacturing, test support,performingtest data reviews, processing non-conforming hardware and writing technical reports. You will need to have a background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and structural mechanics to be successful. You will be reporting directly to a Combustion Devices Manager within the Engines business unit.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is requiredQualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical or physics desired)Subject matter expert in combustion devices through design and developmentStrong technical fundamentals in propulsion, fluids, thermodynamics, and combustionStrong technical skills in managing failure investigations with root causes in design, manufacturing, and hardware performanceProficiency with computer aided design (CAD) and mechanical design fundamentalsProficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)15+ yearsof industry experience in a related field5+ years of experience overseeing, guiding, and mentoring less experienced engineers5+ years of involvement in bid, proposal, and project capture activitiesDesired:M.S. in engineering discipline or higherFamiliarity with analytical packages ANSYS, COMSOL, Fluent, CFX, Thermal Desktop, ROCETS or ROCCIDStrong knowledge of entire combustion devices life cycle from design, development, qualification, acceptance and productionExperience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10Compensation Range for:WA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
