Building Engineer Able Services Field u2013 Engineering, Building Engineer /Full time /On-site Compensation: $42.20 per hour Location: Philadelphia, PA We are seeking a Building Engineer to support the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general facility maintenance. This role involves troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and responding to service requests to ensure the facility operates efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent problemu2011solving abilities, and a commitment to customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities u00b7 Operate, maintain, and repair HVAC/R equipment, including air handlers, chillers, and refrigeration systems. u00b7 Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC/R and associated systems to ensure optimal performance. u00b7 Respond to and resolve on-demand HVAC service requests from building tenants. u00b7 Assist with basic carpentry, metal work, painting, and hard surface maintenance and repair. u00b7 Perform light plumbing repairs, including restroom fixtures and minor leaks. u00b7 Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces as required. u00b7 Respond to customer requests professionally, ensuring timely service and resolution. u00b7 Accurately complete work orders, reports, and documentation as required. u00b7 Assist in emergency situations, including after-hours calls. u00b7 Follow safety protocols, fire codes, and emergency procedures, reporting unsafe conditions. u00b7 Maintain clean and organized work areas after completing tasks. u00b7 Work collaboratively under the direction of the Chief Engineer to ensure building systems operate efficiently. u00b7 Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge. u00b7 Assist in training new employees as directed. --- Minimum Qualifications u00b7 High school diploma or equivalent. u00b7 3+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance and repair. u00b7 Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. u00b7 Experience using tools and materials required for building maintenance. u00b7 Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documentation. u00b7 Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues. u00b7 Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Office products. u00b7 Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks. u00b7 Availability to work shifts, overtime, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed. --- Preferred Qualifications u00b7 Technical school certification in HVAC, building maintenance, or a related field. u00b7 EPA Universal Certification (preferred but not required). u00b7 2+ years of experience with commercial HVAC/R equipment and systems. u00b7 Experience in multi-tenant high-rise commercial buildings. u00b7 Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS). u00b7 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with tenants, staff, and management. #200 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Pay: $4 (2.20 per hour The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position.
